Mechanical engineers use principles of mechanics and energy to do research and to develop, design, manufacture, and test tools, machines, motors, engines and other mechanical devices. They work on power-producing machines and develop power-using machines. They also work in areas such as the medical field, patents and other legal activities, management, forensic engineering, environmental engineering, and engineering sales.
